What does a day as an au pair look like?

Working as an au pair babysitter is very special: you are seen as a full member of the family. You babysit on a regular basis for the same family, often multiple days a week. For young children, you'll often be there for whole days, while families with older children mostly need your help for after-school care. You take care of the children with love, doing fun things together and helping them with their homework if necessary. You also take care of light household chores, such as doing laundry and cooking dinner. After a pleasant day, you put the children to bed and have some time for a relaxed evening or homework. Your work as an au pair is valuable!

Meet Angel Adina

“When I've worked for a family as an au pair for a longer period of time, I really enjoy watching the children grow. I have a family with twins that I've been babysitting since they were 3 months old. They are now 2 years and 3 months old. It is so special to see how they now walk and even run when they see me standing in front of the door. They'll chant in unison, ‘Adina, Adina! Adina is here!’ That makes me feel so happy.”

Does it matter how often I am available?

You decide yourself when you work and how many days or nights you are available. We do ask that you are available to babysit for at least half a year.
