In this summer heat, the festival season is also fast approaching. Meaning that, besides all those sunny terrace days, it’s also time to spontaneously visit the best parties and festivals. Haven’t yet caught the festival fever? We have!! Which is why we have collected the best to do’s to turn this around.

Amsterdam & Amstelveen

#1. Bacchus Wijnfestival – 8 until 10 & 15 until 17 June

Become a wine connoisseur at Bacchus Wijnfestival! During this festival in the Amsterdamse Bos, wine tasting will be the focal point. Because of the many tastings, you will become familiar with all the best wine & food combinations.

#2. Sushi Festival City Beach – 28 and 29 July

Still some time to go before you go on vacation? No worries! Imagine yourself in Japan during this summer version of the Sushi Festival. Sushi creations such as sushi-donuts, sushi burgers and sushi-burrito’s will sell like hot buns.

#3. Komm Schon Alter – 9 June

Techno is not everyone’s favourite. Still, the Komm Schon Alter festival is certainly not to be missed! In the Tuinen van West, you can find the best festival to party with your friends!

#4. Festival Trek – 13 until 15 July

Festival Trek will transform the Amstelpark into a foodtruck festival. From sushi to the best burgers; at Trek, you’re in the right place.

#5. VEGGIE Festival – 15 until 17 June

No meat boring? Certainly not! The Veggie Festival is hip and happening! Thanks to the well-know veggie creations and inspiring veggie chefs, this festival is one you must attend.


Haarlem

#1: Haarlemse ShoppingNight – 9 June

Does shopping after midnight sound like music to your ears? Then the Haarlemse ShoppingNight full of fun activities, live music, street theatre, workshops and fashion shows is guaranteed to be the thing for you!

#2 Houtfestival – 16 and 17 June

(Inter)national music, dance, theatre and food will be the focal point during the Houtfestival. This is the culinary discovery tour for the whole family.

#3. Eten op Rolletjes – 29 June until 1 July

Once again, the festival Eten op Rolletjes will be hosted in an open air restaurant at De Lichtfabriek. Enjoy delicious food, live music and entertainment.

Leiden

Rrrollend Foodtruckfestival in Leiden has the best food and drinks

#1. Rrrollend Foodtruckfestival – 24 until 26 August

Endless choice of good food, drinks and great jazz tunes are probably music to your ears! Swing along with this cosy foodfestival!

#2. Leiden Culinair – 21 until 24 June

The perfect moment to kick-start your summer is during the Leiden Culinair festival, where the historical city centre is dedicated to culinary discovery. Restaurants from the city will present their best dishes: it will be a feast for sure!


The Hague

#1: Sushi Festival Joy – 8 until 20 June

We love sushi! You too? Then you must be sure not to miss the Sushi Festival Joy! The Westbroekpark will be revolve entirely around sushi and Asian streetfood. Oh, and there will even be cooking workshops for the little ones. Don’t miss out!

#2: De Parade – 13 until 22 July

For ten days, you can enjoy theatre, dance, mime and music performances all around town. Want to go out for an afternoon with your mini-me? Be sure to check out the KinderParade!

#3: Foodstock – 22 until 24 June

The recipe of festival Foodstock is made up of more than just good food and drinks, music is also part of the perfect combination! With the three-day-long open air restaurant, you can complete your weekend!


Utrecht

#1. Gin Festival Utrecht – 8 until 9 June

Keeping the warm temperatures forecast for this weekend in mind, this will be the perfect moment to sip your favourite GT’s during the Gin Festival. At a unique location, the Wolvenplein prison, you will be more than welcome to get to know all old and new gins.


#2. Vorkje Prik – 6 until 8 July

It’s all in the name: the festival with the best snacks! Besides all that deliciousness, Vorkje Prik will also offer live music; what more can you want?

#3. Parade – 27 July until 12 August

For ten full days, you can take your child to enjoy theatre, dance, mime and music performances. Every afternoon there will be a KinderParade, a program for kids of all ages.

#4. Lepeltje Lepeltje – 29 June until 1 July

While the little ones are being entertained with dance, theatre, children’s yoga, arts and crafts, and cooking, you can enjoy the most delicious dishes and the best drinks.


Eindhoven

#1: FeelGood Market – 17 June

The Ketelhuisplein will be transformed into a place where you can stroll along the best stalls full of snacks, drinks and local products. There will also be plenty other activities, especially for kids. In short, a day out for the whole family.

#2: Festival Trek – 29 June until 1 July

In Eindhoven as well, the foodtruck festival will return to the Karpendonkse Plas. The place to spread your picnic blanket and enjoy the best dishes and drinks all weekend long. And, definitely not unimportant: entry is free!


Rotterdam

Relaxing and good food at festival Rrrollend in Rotterdam

Rotterdam

#1. Rrrollend – 13 until 15 July

Noordplein will be the place to be from 13 until 15 July! The Noordplein will be transformed into one big food fest. Enjoy all that deliciousness and simultaneously the jazz bands. Talk about multitasking!! The kids will also have the time of their life; arts and crafts, face painting and children’s theatre will close a lovely day out.

#2. Swan Market – 24 June & 29 July

All those foodie festivals are great of course, but what if you simply want to go shopping? Then the Swan Market is the place for you! From authentic, homemade jewellery to awesome interior items; there’s something for everyone! And no worries, there will still be a couple of foodtrucks to replenish after all that shopping.

#3. Gin Festival Rotterdam – 23 June

What could be better than enjoying an afternoon with an ice cold glass of Gin-Tonic in hand while admiring the skyline of Rotterdam. On Saturday 23 June, the Cruise Terminal in Rotterdam will be transformed into the perfect location to sample new Gin-Tonics. Be sure, there will also be culinary bites aplenty!
